Hypnotherapy is a complementary therapy, which uses hypnosis to help people. Hypnosis is just an altered state of awareness. It’s a state of mind, enhanced by mental and physical relaxation, in which our subconscious mind is able to communicate with our conscious mind. It is widely accepted as excellent way to unlock our inner potential to make beneficial changes to our lives.
If we suffer stress, anxiety, low self-esteem, lack of confidence, disrupted sleep, stress-related symptoms or unwanted habits around food & drink, hypnotherapy may be beneficial. The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) has recognised hypnotherapy as a possible treatment for IBS, in those who haven't responded to other treatments.
What happens in a session?
Initially, we will discuss and agree your goals and review your medical history (if not done already). Then you will be asked to sit or lie down, whatever your preference, and make yourself comfortable. Then Dawn will guide you into a deeper level of calming relaxation. Remember though, you are always in control when under hypnosis and can easily bring yourself out of the hypnotic state if you want to. Whatever your level of relaxation or hypnotic state, beneficial suggestions are used to help you visualize and achieve your goals.
