Wellness Check

Know your body, protect your health.

Your Wellness Check is one single health assessment and consultation that delivers expert insight and a personalised diet and lifestyle plan.

Wellness Check – Nutritional & Lifestyle Review

I support women over 50 to improve their health.

A Wellness Check is a single health assessment and consultation that helps you understand what’s going on in your body, and gives you an evidence-based diet and lifestyle plan, personalised to your health goals.

I offer a free 20-minute call where you can ask questions to help you decide if this is the right fit for you, and whether you’d like to include the optional blood test.

Everyone needs a annual health & wellness check.

Why is a Wellness Check Important?

Many of us simply want to be proactive about our heath and know we are doing all we can to stay healthy. If you’d like to know a little more, read my blog: Women’s Health Check: Know your body, protect your heath.

Catch things early (before they become a problem):

As we age, our risk of developing conditions like insulin resistance, high cholesterol, osteoporosis, or inflammation-related problems increases, often without obvious symptoms. A Wellness Check helps spot potential imbalances early, when they’re easiest to address.

Peace of mind is powerful:

Whether you’re already doing a lot for your health or feel overehelmed by the differing health advice out there, a Wellness Check gives you the reassurance that you’re on the right path, doing the right things.

You don’t feel like yourself, but can’t explain why:

One of the most frustrating things for women is being told that everything is “normal” when you know it isn’t. A Wellness Check validates your concerns and helps connect the dots between how you feel and what’s happening inside your body.

Feel in control again (not overwhelmed):

Not knowing what’s going on in your body can lead to quiet anxiety, over-researching, or just giving up. A Wellness Check helps you replace uncertainty with insight. You’ll leave with a plan that based on your family & past medical history, current symptoms, blood test results and your health goals.

Postmenopause shifts everything – from metabolism to mindset:

After menopause, changes in hormones, gut bacteria, muscle mass, and fat distribution affect everything from energy to mood. You may need fewer carbs, more protein, better sleep, or daily calming practices – but that advice should be tailored to you.

Mental wellbeing matters too:

Feeling sluggish, low, bloated or “off” can wear down your confidence. A Wellness Check helps you tune in to your body’s signs and symptoms, and learn what’s right for you now, before poor health affects your quality of life.

Hello, I’m Dawn

My passion is to help women feel fabulous today, and protect their health for the future.

If you believe that prevention is better then cure, and you like to see in black-and-white what your body is telling you, then it’s time to book a Wellness Check.

In the 1:1 Wellness Check we combine the findings from your blood test, with my assessment of your symptoms, food diary and lifestyle habits to create a personalised nutrition and lifestyle plan.

It’s quick, easy and a reassuring way to know you’re doing the right things to protect your health now, and enjoy a better quality of life as you age.

Be One Step Ahead: A Simple Check – The Case for Proactive Health

A LANDMARK STUDY – NHS HEALTH CHECK PROGRAMME (2023)

A large matched cohort study published in BMJ Open followed over 48,000 UK adults for up to nine years to assess the impact of NHS Health Checks compared to no check-up.

The results were striking:
Participants who attended a single health check had a 23% lower risk of all-cause mortality, and were significantly less likely to develop heart attack, dementia, chronic kidney disease, cirrhosis, and other serious health conditions.

This study shows that simple, proactive assessments can make a powerful difference – especially when combined with personalised lifestyle changes. It confirms what we already believe at New Dawn Health: that checking in with your body before issues arise, is one of the best health investments you can make.

Wellness Check FAQ’s

How useful is a Wellness Check?

Very. A check like this can spot patterns, imbalances or issues early, before they become bigger problems.

Is the blood test required?

No, it’s optional. But many women find the extra insight very helpful, especially when their basic NHS tests say everything is “normal.”

Is this like going to the GP?

No. You’ll have up to 90 minutes of 1:1 time with me to explore your symptoms, history and lifestyle in depth, something GPs rarely have time for.

Can I do the Wellness Check online?

Yes. Everything except physical measurements can be done remotely. You’ll still get a comprehensive review and your personalised plan.

What happens during the 90-minute consultation?

We’ll review your symptoms, diet, health history, lifestyle and goals in depth. If you’ve chosen in-person, we’ll take measurements like blood pressure, body composition and waist:hip ratio. We’ll review your blood test, if you took one. You’ll then receive personalised guidance, dietary advice, based on your health goals.

Can I bring past test results with me?

Absolutely. If you’ve had recent NHS or private blood tests, we can look at those together and discuss what they mean and how to optimise them. If anything important is missing, we can discuss further testing options.
